partners with Hughes Communications
Launches first of its kind certificate
program in Global Business management for graduates
in India
University of Maryland
University College, U.S. (UMUC), announced today
its partnership with Hughes Communications to
bring a graduate certificate in Global Business
Management to students in India. This pioneering
program has been designed with the rapidly changing
global economic and business landscape in mind
and responds to the worldwide demand for managers
with international business expertise. This is
an exclusive and first of its kind tie-up in India
to offer a high quality graduate-level course
to qualified students in India.
The program is structured to
prepare students to serve as mid-level managers
in a global enterprise, to make sound financial
decisions and to effectively manage team members
from different countries and cultures and in different
locations. It is suited to the needs of managers
already working in global organizations, to entrepreneurs
who must fill multiple roles in their own companies,
or to mid-level employees who wish to move into
management positions or into a different market
sector.
The program will encourage
students to develop research skills, using the
online catalog of the University System of Maryland
and affiliated institutions (USMAI), UMUC’s
many subscription databases and the Web.

The application fee for
the program is US $50. The tuition fee is US $12,567.
Transcript evaluations cost US $250. The last
date for submitting the application form is September
1, 2009. The program runs for one year and on
successful completion, students will earn a graduate
certificate in Global Business Management from
UMUC.
