lists admission open to this program – what does
DWGE have to do with it?
A. HughesNet Global
Education is the premier broadband satellite based
education and training service for consumers,
small businesses and enterprise markets from Hughes
Escorts Communications Limited (HECL). HNGE provides
the top Institutions in the country and abroad
the mode of delivering quality education across
the country – breaking geographic barriers – where
the country is the classroom. The education provided
by the Institute over HughesNet Global Education’s
Interactive Onsite Learning (IOL) platform is
real-time and interactive. The instructor is always
visible to the students. Interactions with the
professor are spontaneous and as natural as in
a regular classroom. A Single instructor can now
work with students across the country, without
comprising on quality of learning. HughesNet Global
Education’s Interactive Onsite learning (IOL)
platform seeks to define the next generation of
Education i.e. Real Time Interactive Education.
The platform seamlessly integrates the strengths
and advantages of the traditional method of education
with the latest in technology.
Q. How is the program delivered? Is it like
a correspondence course?
A. No, This is not like a correspondence
course. The technology used here is the DiRECWAY
Global Education satellite broadband infrastructure
to deliver real time, synchronous, live education
to all the participating students. The interaction
is live and uses high quality video, audio and
data. The studios for this are at Gurgaon. The
professors will teach from these studios. The
students will need to come to DiRECWAY Global
Education learning centers at pre-fixed times.
As on date there are 50 classrooms across 50 cities
for you to be able to attend classes from. You
can visit any of the centers near you to get your
prospectus as well as a first hand feel of the
technology.
Q. Where are the classrooms?
A. We have 50 classrooms across 33
cities today – You can get the updated list by
visiting the program detail page of the institutes
listed in the website. More classrooms will be
operational in other cities.
Q. Can I speak to the ex-students
who have enrolled for such programs?
A. Yes, you can request
any of our representatives at the classrooms to
get you in touch with the students to share their
experiences
Q. Can I get a demonstration
on how the classes will be conducted before I
apply?
A. Yes. You can visit any of the
HNGE centers mentioned in the website (in the
center address link on all program pages ).Our
representatives will be happy to take you through
the demonstration of the technology.
Q. What is the 'Interactive
Onsite Learning' technology? Has it been used
elsewhere yet? How effective is it actually in
terms of Interactivity?
A. The HughesNet Global Education
service uses technology sourced from Hughes and
One Touch Knowledge Systems Inc. (OTKS), a company
owned jointly by Hughes & the Apollo Group,
Inc., USA. OTKS is the world’s leading provider
of interactive learning systems and technologies.
Today there are more than 28000 OTKS classrooms
operational across the world.
In terms of interactivity
– system offers the highest level of interactivity
– the closest one can get to a real classroom
based education.
Q. What is the process of registration?
A. You may submit your registration
details at our website (you will see the registration
link on the program page). Our representatives
will then get in touch with you, with a prospectus
and an application form that you will need to
fill and submit. Subject to the selection criteria,
the shortlisted candidates will be intimated for
the entrance examination.
Q. What if I am traveling
while the classes are on?
A. You may opt to take
the classes from whichever city you are traveling
in. If you cannot make it to the classes, you
can preview a recorded session. However you will
be marked as absent for the said session.
Q. Is there industry recognition for such
particular programs?
A. Prospective employers are ultimately
interested in how well the graduates they hire
perform on the job. The quality of the graduates
from our platform and what they go on to accomplish
on the job will determine the academic reputation
of an Institute or Platform of education.
Q. I travel a lot. How do I take classes?
What if I miss my classes?
A. Since the classes are simultaneously
held across the locations(50 classrooms in 50
cities), you can attend the classes in the nearest
HughesNet Global Education classroom, wherever
you are, on a seat available basis. So you can
keep traveling on work or leisure and not miss
classes. The total proceedings of class including
the presentation, interaction etc are archived
and available. Go through the archieved session
before taking the next lecture. Please check with
your classroom coordinator about the details.
Please note that you need a minimum attendance
of 75% to complete a course. Going through an
archived session is not the same as attending
the class.
