Since its inception Hughes has partnered with the Premier Institutes of India (and abroad) which include names like:

IIM Kozhikode: In May 2002, IIM Kozhikode became the first Management Institute in India to offer a Management Program (Executive Management Education Program - eMEP) over the HughesNet platform. Over 500 professionals have taken up the 10-month Program.

 

IIM Calcutta: The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) was established as the first national institute for Post-Graduate studies and Research in Management by the Government of India in November 1961. It has been playing a pioneering role in professionalising Indian management through its Post Graduate and Doctoral level programs, Executive Training Programs, Research and Consulting Activities.

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi is one of the seven Institutes of technology created as centers excellence for higher training, research and development in science, engineering and technology in India, the others being at Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Bombay, Guwahati and Roorkee. Established as College Engineering in 1961, the Institute was later declared an Institution of National Importance under the "Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 1963" and was renamed "Indian Institute of Technology Delhi ". It was then accorded the status of a deemed university with powers to decide its own academic policy, to conduct its own examinations, and to award its own degrees.
HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, laid the foundation stone of the Institute on January 27, 1959. The Institute was inaugurated by Prof.Humayun Kabir, the then Union Minister for Scientific Research and Cultural Affairs on August 21, 1961. The Institute buildings were formally opened by Dr.Zakir Hussain, the then President of India, on March 2, 1968.

 

Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) is one of the seven higher Institutes of Technology in the country set up with the objective of making available facilities for higher education, research and training in various fields of Science and Technology.

IIT Bombay, founded in 1958, has established itself as a premier world class teaching and research institution in technology and interdisciplinary programmes. About twenty percent of its alumni are entrepreneurs - many of them first generation. The pre-eminence of the Institute is evident from its varied and effective academic programmes for manpower development to meet the rapidly changing needs of the Organizations.

The ideas and ideals on which IIT Bombay is built evolve and change with national aspirations, national perspectives, and trends world - wide.

 

Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management

To promote interdisciplinary learning and to keep up with the changing environment, IIT Bombay established its management school in 1995 with the objective of transforming professionals with technological background to "Renaissance Leaders" of tomorrow. In the year 2000, the school was renamed as Shailesh J Mehta School of Management, in honor of Dr. Shailesh J. Mehta, a distinguished alumnus of IIT Bombay and a generous contributor to the school. The School Of Management already leads the way in preparing its Graduates to respond to the new challenges by drawing on the varied intellectual resources of IIT Bombay and providing an outstanding and innovative program in management education.
